Avery Abel

Passed the California July 2024 Bar Exam – Waiting to be Admitted

Avery earned her Juris Doctorate from Cardozo School of Law in New York City, graduating top 25% of her class in June of 2024. She received her B.S. at the Florida State University in 2018, double majoring in International Affairs and Spanish. During her time at Cardozo School of Law, Avery was a member of the Cardozo Moot Court Honor Society where she competed in mock trials and head coached for other students. As a competitor Avery became a quarter finalist in the New York City Bar Moot Court Competition. As a coach, Avery took her team to Third Place at the University of Nevada Las Vegas Moot Court Competition. Further, Avery served the honor society on the Executive Board.

In addition to her time on Moot Court, Avery gained significant experience from her internships. Summer of 2023, Avery worked at the Esteé Lauder Companies where she was the Litigation Department’s Intern. There, she was able to gain experience working for a large corporation defending mass tort claims. Further, Avery worked at Merson Law in New York City for over a year, where she was able to work hands on with sexual assault and medical malpractice cases. Avery’s passion for helping victims of sexual assault began there and she learned the unique skillset that is necessary to advocate and prosecute those cases.

Avery has been able to cultivate and sharpen her legal research, case development strategies, oral advocacy, and legal writing skills through her extensive legal experience. She is eager to further aid victims and help them find justice for their wrongs.
