Robert Abel Jr.

The Abel Firm Founder & Principal Lawyer

The Abel Firm Founder, Robert B. Abel Jr.’s goal in every case, is to provide clients the ability to move forward with optimism, security, and confidence. For three decades, Robert Abel Jr. has protected California consumers and victims from corporate greed, medical mistakes, dangerous products, worksite injuries, motor vehicle accidents and other types of catastrophic incidents.

Graduating in 1979 from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminology, he developed a strong interest in law and trial practice. Robert Abel Jr. obtained a law degree from Florida State University College of Law in 1982. He initially obtained employment with teh Hillsborough County Tampa Florida District Attorney’s Office, where he received extensive jury trial experience and successfully prosecuted many criminal cases.

Robert Abel Jr. relocated to San Francisco in 1988 and learned the practices, procedures, and protocol of the insurance industry through his seven-year employment as an insurance defense attorney with American International Group.

Mr. Abel found representing insurance companies unfulfilling and contrary to his personal beliefs. He realized that his true passion was representing individuals. Mr. Abel’s past experience as an insurance defense attorney gives him a clear advantage – he knows how insurance companies think.

In June, 1995, Mr. Abel opened his own law practice dedicated exclusively to the representation of individuals injured as a result of the intentional wrongdoing or negligence of others. During his career as a plaintiff’s attorney, Mr. Abel has successfully obtained millions of dollars of compensation for his clients through trial, arbitration, mediation and settlement.

The most fulfilling part of this profession for Mr. Abel are times when clients express their gratitude for his assistance in bringing resolutions to difficult periods in their lives.
